Series: PreMini

Category: Relationships
Pairing/Focus:  Lee, Kara
Warnings
Summary: Apollo got crazy for a few minutes and bought himself something cool and fast- now Kara wants to play with it.
Spoilers/Disclaimers: Set pre-series. Probably pre-Zak. I don’t own the characters- they belong to Sci-Fi and R&D. The situations however are all mine and maybe I shouldn’t be jumping up and down about that now, eh?
Notes: This is in response to the 1st Person Whatcha Want Challenge at BSG1000. The character I chose is of course, Starbuck. Nice calmly diversion from the long piece which is now clocking in at 11,000 words. Le Sigh. Words: 1000 minus the “-FIN”. Cigar to Billy because he’s so darned adorable.

“You know damn well that it’s way too much machine for you,” I remind him, ignoring the voice in the back of my head that’s telling me that insulting his manhood is probably not the way to go about getting what I want from him.

He grins at me and I can tell that he’s enjoying this. Probably a bit too much. Lee Adama rarely has new toys and usually when he does, they’re dull as shit crap like a new mattress for his loft.

Not that a mattress is ever dull but that’s hardly the point.

Not right now anyhow. No this is more, this is something that Lee has no business around; he’ll probably kill himself if he plays with it too long.

He oughta just be done with it and give it to me. Make things simple for both of us and it’ll keep him from breaking every bone in his body.

Which you know, is of course all I care about. His health you know.

“I uh…I…think I can handle it,” he assures me, still grinning in that same silly trademark Apollo way.

I briefly consider slapping it off his face but that’d let him think he’d won this one. Can’t do that.

Lee’s a lot more devious than most people give him credit for. He just hides it better, usually under all of the layers of boring protocol and worthless military polish.

“Lee,” I say, moving over to it and running a hand over its slick red metal, thinking of how it would feel between my legs.

I shake my head, amused at my own ability to find the gutter within three seconds or less.

“Kara,” he answers, still smirking. He’s confident, certain that this time he’s got me good.

He might have a point but I sure as hell am not about to admit that.

“Have you uh…ridden her yet?”

“What makes you think it’s a her?” he replies, eyebrow lifting in that infuriating pseudo condescending way. He’s fraking with me now, doing whatever he can to let me know that he’s enjoying this.

“It’s always a her,” I tell him, sliding my hand across her front. She’s a thing of beauty and right now I’m feeling crazy lust.

And the bastard knows it.

This is payback then.

Well okay I did kind of make off with his whole supply of Aquarian Cigars.

Wait wait, not the whole supply.

I left two.

Out of thirty.

This is just cruel though.

She’s wasn’t made for someone who’s never gone half an inch over a stop line in his entire life. Wind through his hair? Bullshit, it’d probably make the anal part of him require some kind of sticky ointment to clean up the burning.

“I didn’t think you swung that way,” Lee taunts. He moves over to stand next to me and places his hand over mine. We lock eyes and this could be a sexual thing but it’s not because he’s wearing that shit-eating grin and I just want to smack him.

Yeah, this is definitely payback.

And if I had one of his fraking cigars right now I’d blow it into his face.

I smile at him. “If she’s fast enough,” I reply, knowing that we’re both baiting each other with the innuendo.

“Oh she’s fast enough,” he laughs. He moves my hands up to her metal handles and glides them across her rubber grips. “She uh..she rumbles.” He falters a bit at the end there, his voice cracking with a hint of nervousness as he tries to continue the game.

I roll my eyes and snicker, breaking away from the contact and turning to face him. “Why Lieutenant Adama, are you actually managing to be perverse for longer than three seconds without blushing?”

He tilts his head and his blue eyes flash with annoyance. He hates when I turn the game, hates that I’m better at this than he is. I’m not stupid though and I know something he hasn’t quite completely figured out; he’s holding all the cards.

He has something I want.

And I want it badly.

Time to make my move and see if I can’t make him give up his Ace card while playing for a four of a kind that he’ll never get.

Not in my game anyhow and not when I’m running the table.

“So uh, what did she look like?” I ask, turning away from him and walking a few paces over to the metal railing on the side of the deck outside the Officers Recreation Hall.

“She?” he asks, confused. “You’re looking at…” He stops and gets it, tilting his head in irritation. “I didn’t buy it because of a she.”

“So no hot piece of ass told you what a stud you’d look like on her?”

“Kara…”

“And by her I mean, either her?”

He blushes deeply, the red swimming all the way up to his hairline. Lee is never improper and he never speaks about women in a manner that is anything less than respectful. And that includes even ones he’ll never see again. “No,” he stammers. “No.”

And suddenly I know that I’ve got him. I point to my chest and lift a bit. “Was she...big?”

He swallows hard and then lets out a breath of frustration. This isn’t how he’d planned things. This isn’t what he’d intended. He saw this far different.

Resignation and defeat slumps his shoulders and I almost feel bad for him.

Almost.

Okay, not really.

He reaches into his pocket and pulls out the keys. “Here,” he mumbles, looking like I just kicked his dog.

I take the keys and turn them over in my hands. I laugh. I can’t resist. I turn back to her.

She’s beautiful in red, a shiny motorcycle screaming to me.

I turn back to Lee and grin, dangling the keys in front of me. “Let’s go Apollo,” I say, delighting in the widening of his eyes. “Time to burn.”
