*** Be nice, this is my very first attempt!**

I wonder if he meant it when he said that he loved me. She had her eyes closed in the darkness of Kobol’s night. Lee’s breathing was slow and steady; he could still be awake as she’d learned in the past. Opening her eyes did not help due to the blackness of the night, but Kara stared towards the back of his head, regardless. He wouldn’t have said it unless he meant it. Frak. Probably like a frakin’ sister. With her mind elsewhere, a long sigh escaped.

Lee heard Kara sigh. So she isn’t asleep! He’d been listening to her breathing, just far enough away from the back of his neck that he couldn’t feel the warmth of her breath. Slow, steady breathing was his defense; pushing down every feeling to turn over and pretend that he was sleeping as he rolled closer to her. I can’t believe I let that slip. Over and over, Lee had punished himself for telling Kara that he loved her. Her sing-song rebuke afterwards was enough to tell him that he needed to stifle those feelings. Gods, I want to kiss her again. Nothing had been so simple as kissing her once she stepped onto the ship. Her voice over the com was like a fracking dream. Thinking about the curve of her body and the sudden kiss he had stolen made his breathing speed up slightly.

Bastard. He’s awake. Kara chided herself for sighing. She had caught it after the fact and then held her breath to see if Lee would move. Maybe he’ll just pretend to be asleep, roll over and put his arm over me. Kara smirked at the thought. Cool, disciplined Lee Adama caving to personal feelings; not a chance. But that kiss had taken her by surprise. Again, she scolded herself for the cocky response. Sometimes I wish I could be less of a bitch. In the head, as she was thinking back to Caprica and back to Anders, Apollo came and threw her world into a feverish pitch with his words. He would never love me like that. She closed her eyes and rubbed her sore stomach.

He thought he was going to lose it completely when he heard Kara rubbing back and forth on her stomach. I wish she’d tell me. Frak it. Lee scooted forward and then rolled towards Starbuck. “You okay?” he whispered. Even in the dark, he realized that he was closer to her body that he had anticipated. “Yeah.” Her whisper was so quiet that it was barely there. She had stopped rubbing her stomach and opened her eyes again. Too dark, nothing to see. She could imagine his blue eyes, the stubble on his face and his perfect hair messed up from sleep. Could I tell him that I loved him too? “I’m fine.” “You need anything for the pain? I’ll get you something.” He started to raise himself up. “No, no, Lee. Don’t.” Frak, frak, frak, I used his name. “I’m good.” Reaching out, she grabbed his arm to stop him. He lowered his head back down and Kara could feel his breath near her forehead. I could just tilt my head up. She closed her eyes again.

I’m gonna lose it. Lee could fell Starbuck breathing into the small of his neck, warming every part of his body with her breath. Get control, Apollo. Letting his eyes roll back, he curved up his arm and caught the back of her head. A quick kiss to her forehead would have to end it. He let his kiss linger a second longer than he should have and then rolled away from her, sighing as he rolled so that she wouldn’t hear it.

He smelled good; there were few times that he didn’t. Even when he sweated, it wasn’t horrible. Kara inhaled with her nose and let out through her mouth. She couldn’t even get her thoughts straight. Her hand was still on his arm when it moved up and then cradled her head. Yes. The kiss on her forehead was unexpected. As he turned, she heard him sigh. I hope you whither from want. The gods know that I am. She rolled away from him and then shifted back into the warmth of the place she’d just rolled from. A sideways smile spread when she felt Lee’s back against her’s. So say we all.
