Kara had been thinking a lot about how Lee had greeted her when she returned from Caprica. The hug didn't surprise her, though because of how things had stood before between them, it kinda did. The kiss had been a complete shock. And by the look on his face, he was just as shocked. Telling her that he loved her was such a big deal. It signified that he had forgiven her and was willing to start afresh.
Each thing on its own would not have been enough to convince her that Lee was starting to feel more for her. Combine them all, and Kara honestly believed for the first time that she had a chance with him.
Maybe it was time to open up to him, make her move? She walked into the Senior Pilots quarters and noticed that his curtain was shut. He should be getting up soon, his next shift started in a couple of hours.
"Lee? Are you awake?"
He pulled back the curtain and Kara felt her stomach flutter. He was just so beautiful.
"What do you want, Kara?"
She looked him over; he was wearing his tanks and sweats and had been reading. She bent down and took the book from his hand.
"Move over, Lee."
"Forget it Starbuck."
"I thought you said I could talk to you?"
He seemed to consider this and reluctantly moved over. Not a promising start, but she really couldn't blame his weariness. She climbed in next to him and laid on her stomach, propping herself up on her elbows. He had backed himself into the wall and was trying not to touch her. It would only take the smallest movement to lean in and kiss him. She would do that later.
"Well?" His voice was lower and thicker now, like her proximity was affecting him. At least that was something.
"I've been thinking about the day I arrived back." All of a sudden, she wasn't quite sure how to tell him.
"And .." He prompted.
"And I was wondering if that was an odd day or if it was .."
"If it was what?"
"If it was something more?" She finally got her question out.
Lee stayed silent.
She let out a huff of air and charged ahead before she lost her nerve. "You were very affectionate that day. I thought we might talk about that."
"I was happy to see you." Was all the reply she got from him.
"I did notice that. And you know that I was happy to see you too, right?" She averted her eyes, because he was acting weird and she was beginning to feel a little embarrassed.
"Where you? I mean, you tend to blow hot and cold, Kara."
She was starting to see what he was doing. He was trying to divert her attention from his actions to hers instead. Sneaky bastard. "You can talk, Mr. hug me, kiss me, insult me, yank me around, tease me and finally try to be my friend and slip in the fact that you love me."
She was looking him in the eye by the time she finished saying the last part and his expression confused her. He was looking like she had just kicked him or something.
"I guess my emotions aren't always in control when I'm around you." His voice was getting quieter now.
"You don't seem to be having a problem now."
He let out a frustrated sigh. "Just tell me what you want Kara, and I'll try my best to give it to you."
Kara didn't think too much about it. She simply leaned in and kissed him. Words seemed to be getting them no where.
For precisely three seconds, Lee actually responded. Then he pulled away from her and that kicked look returned to his eyes.
"Frak it, Kara. Stop playing around."
"I'm not playing." She leaned in and tried kissing him again. She placed her hand on his chest and could feel his heart thumping hard. As he pulled away from her mouth yet again, their tongues tasted each other briefly. The sensation went straight to her knees, weakness and want overtaking her.
She was following his mouth with her own on blind instinct. Why wouldn't he stay still and kiss her? On her third attempt to kiss him properly, he forcefully shoved her away.
Finally irritated, herself, she said, "What is the matter with you, Lee?"
"I don't know what makes you think you can just plonk yourself down and start kissing me." His voice was catching slightly and she could see that he was struggling for composure.
"Well, how about the fact that you did it to me first?" Kara never thought that she would be having this conversation with Lee. She honestly thought he would be urgently trying to get his hands under her tanks right about now.
"You obviously took that the wrong way, besides; I didn't crawl into bed with you." The pain was increasing in his eyes and was starting to crack through his voice. Lee was definitely upset.
His words burst upon her in slow delayed moments after he said them. She took it the wrong way. Frak! She had taken it the wrong way. She wanted to crawl away and hide somewhere, somewhere where she would never have to see Lee again.
She blushed and tried to gracefully exit his bunk. Stuttering her apologies, she said, "I'm sorry, Lee. I honestly thought you're your feelings had deepened for me."
"Kara, you and I are just friends. I kissed you because I was so relieved to see you; I was truly worried that you would never come home. I told you that I love you as a friend, I thought you understood that." He had definitely found his composure, he sounded cool and mechanical.
She somehow kept the tears from escaping by refusing to blink. She sat up and then stood on shaky legs. The tremble this time had nothing to do with heated desire for Lee Adama; this was a result of her heart crying out.
Before she could take two steps, there was a rush of movement, and Lee brushed past her as he hastily left the bunk room. She felt like she was a piece of trash being pushed aside and ignored. As the hatch slammed shut, she sank to the floor clinging to the low bench that ran down the length of the room.

Lee blindly rushed through the corridors and found an empty storage room. Once inside he paced the centre of the room like a caged animal. Frustration erupted and exploded with his fist punching the bulkhead. Once, twice three times.
He sank down against the cool metal wall and thumped the back of his head repeatedly. When he could only feel his self inflicted pain did he allow his mind to picture her, warm and willing, and everything he had ever wanted.
Five hours, five hours, if she had come to him like that five hours ago, they would be in love right now. He looked down to the still aching bulge in his pants and amended, no they would be making love right now.
Four and a half hours ago, Lee had gotten up to have a shower. He had had one of his nightmares again of losing Kara. It used to be in the raider and now it was her disappearing in the Blackbird. Covered in sweat he had needed to clean up and calm down.
What he didn't need was to hear some nuggets gossiping about an overheard conversation between Helo and Starbuck. What he didn't need to hear was that she had fallen for some resistance guy on Caprica. What he didn't need to know was that Kara seemed to give every other man she met a chance, except him.
Lee just sat there and thumped his head one more time for good measure.
Chapter 2
Kara hadn't realised until now, that her protective shell had worn paper thin since Caprica. She could usually ignore pain, bury it deep inside and only let it out when she felt safe. But every briefing, every normal encounter, every flight (that he was on with her), was tearing holes through that shell, and she was outwardly bleeding.
Something inside her had always told her that her heart was safe with Lee. Well, Lee had told her once that she should be used to being wrong. Yeah, everyone has a skill. Being wrong was tattooed to her forehead. She only had herself to blame. What was she thinking, crawling into his bed and start kissing him like that?
Lee was on duty in CIC so she had a few hours of not worrying if she ran into him. A card game seemed as good a distraction as any. Just before she turned the corner to enter the rec room, she heard her nuggets gossiping. She stopped dead in her tracks at their conversation.
"That guy must've been something if she frakked him in the middle of a war zone." That sounded like Kat.
"Hey, that's the best kind. No guilt, just taking what you want."
"You're such a guy Hotdog. Not every woman drops her knickers just because a situation is dangerous. No, I think Starbuck just likes men - a lot." Kara was going to beat the shit out of Racetrack. That woman had a bigger mouth than even herself.
"Nah, I don't think it was like that. I bet it was romantic and. hey, stop throwing stuff," Kat was laughing.
Racetrack piped up again. "You read too many romance novels, Kat. Anyway, I'm glad. I always thought the CAG had it bad for her, but even he would have better standards unless he just wanted a quick frak."
"You're just jealous Racetrack. You wish the CAG wanted you." Kat sighed, "I wish he looked at me the way he looks at Starbuck."
"You women are nuts. There ARE other viper pilots you know."
"Aww, what's the matter Hotdog? Jealous of the CAG?"
Kara turned away, she couldn't listen anymore. Her mind was racing, trying to work out how they heard about Anders. She knew that Helo would never talk behind her back, so the only other explanation was that one of them had overheard something. "Frak!" What if Lee has found out about Anders? "Frak. Frak"
It all kinda clicked in place. Lee did feel something for her; she knew it in her bones. The day before her kissing blunder, she had caught him staring at her while she was changing. Lee never stared. The day before that, he had rubbed her shoulders after noticing her rolling her neck. She was so surprised at the gesture, but quickly relaxed into it, and enjoyed him rubbing his thumbs into the base of her hairline and the way his fingers threaded through her hair. It was small things, but she always felt his eyes on her and the fact they seemed to spend every free moment together.
Every free moment until she tried to kiss him, that is. He must've overheard the nuggets. Because there was no way that she had misread him so wrong. But his complete rejection of her, made her too wary to try again. Lee Adama was a stubborn man and knew exactly how to cut her the deepest. At least this time he didn't rip into her like he had done when he found out about Baltar.
No. This time was different. This time they had actually been on the same page for the first times in their lives. And she blew it. Kara wondered in vain if he would allow her to explain. Yet if she did explain, she would be leaving herself completely vulnerable to him. To his hurt pride and jealous temper. Maybe she should stop avoiding him? Put up with him punishing her for a while? These past few days had been torture, and she was sick and tired of hurting all the time.
Kara decided that she was going to be brave. She was going to put herself back in his orbit. She was going to put up with his shit for a while, and then try to explain it to him. Because there was one thing that she'd learnt when she turned that corner and saw Lee on the prison ship, it was that being apart from him was worse than being together. Being apart was worse than him telling her that he wanted nothing from her. Being apart was worse than his fist in her face, worse than seeing cold indifference from CAG to pilot. Worse than him rejecting her kisses, rejecting her love.
She actually started to feel better now that she had made the decision. Breaking through stubborn Adama pride was going to be tough, but she was Starbuck and she was fierce.

Lee had just finished a ridiculously long shift. Granted, he did it to himself, but keeping away from Kara was essential. Each time he saw her, he kept picturing her in his bunk with her eyes closed seeking out his mouth with slightly parted lips. His call sign might be that of a god, but Lee Adama was just a man. His head knew that she was just adding him to her bedpost, but his body didn't care.
When it became too much for him, he tried to convince himself that maybe he should apologise and then give in to a relationship on her terms. Relationship? He really was a sap. Kara fraks around it was a basic truth. She did it before Zak, and she's been doing it ever since he boarded the Galactica. Lee resolutely switched off his inner voice that was telling him that he had once frakked four different women in two weeks, so he was no better. But it was just after he found out that Kara was going to marry his little brother; four blonds in fourteen days it wasn't an excuse; it was just simply the reason.
Okay, so maybe Baltar was a mistake that really didn't mean a thing. She hadn't even so much as looked at him since she's been back. But hearing about this resistance guy was eating him inside. He had been worried sick about her. He had been feeling so guilty for that ugly little fight they had in the hanger deck. He never accepted her apology. They had parted ways on the worst possible terms. And all the while she was in the arms of another man.
All of a sudden it occurred to him that maybe that's why she fell into bed with this guy. She probably felt that she meant nothing to him anymore. He had making people feel lower than dirt down into an art form just ask his father. Lee shook his head. He was so pathetic. Here he was trying to justify her actions so he could beg her forgiveness and hope that she still wanted him. He had more pride than that.
He quickly undressed and stepped under the hot spray. He had taken one of the rear shower stalls because he knew what he was about to do. He was already hard, thinking about her, even in anger, got him ridiculously hard. He thought about his most frequent fantasy. The one where he wakes up in the middle of the night, in their bunkroom full of sleeping pilots, to find Kara sitting on his cock and riding him so frakking slow .
Just as he was about to lay his hand on himself, he heard his name moaned low in the next shower stall. He knew her voice anywhere. With his heart pounding in his chest he shut his eyes and forced his feet not to go to her, he lowered his hand and thought *Kara*.
Chapter 3
Kara settled her nerves and took a deep breath. Putting herself back in Lee's orbit meant doing just that so it was now or never. Stepping through the hatch she shut it behind her, to find his body was obscured by the punching bag. She was wearing the sweat shirt with the Caprica Buccaneers logo on it, and hoped it might motivate Lee to question her about Anders. She knew that he knew.
He looked over at her when he heard the hatch shut. His jaw tightened and he gave the bag an almighty punch. Kara rolled her eyes. There was nothing else to do in this room except spar or hit the bag, so she grabbed a pair of gloves and put them on. Lee ignored her. She stood on the other side of him and held the bag; he let loose a series of blows that nearly put her on her ass.
He paused for a breath and looked at her, his blue eyes searing her skin.
"Feel better?" She couldn't quite hide her mocking tone; after all, he wasn't the only one hurting.
"You want something from me?" He said while sucking air into his lungs.
She just looked at him and raised an eyebrow oh the irony. His mouth quirked up when he realised what he said. She mouthed silently to him *not a thing*.
With the tiniest bit of tension melting away, he relaxed his shoulders. Then his eyes focused on what she was wearing, she straightened her back determined not to hide from him. The same kicked look he had given her in his bunk returned to his eyes. He took off his gloves and headed out the hatch.
"The room is all yours, Lieutenant."
She stood there blinking, it took her ten seconds to pull off her gloves and head after him.
Xxxxxxxxxx
He was walking briskly, but he could hear her quick footsteps coming after him. Swearing silently to himself, he turned a corner and slipped into his office, his shower could wait `til later. He pulled off his tanks and wiped the sweat from his face and hair that's when she burst into the room, ready to tear strips off him.
"Damn it, Lee." Her voice suddenly stopped when she focused on his body.
"Try knocking, Lieutenant." He couldn't handle her just now. That soft moan in the showers yesterday was still frakking with his mind. He couldn't decide how he was feeling. He wanted her, but that's nothing new. He felt hurt, betrayed (again), angry and jealous because of this resistance guy, yet those words didn't seem to touch the intensity of what he was feeling. He was this close to giving in and taking what little he could get from her. Maybe something was better than nothing? Maybe he could purge her from his blood?
"Why did you walk off like that? I thought you said we were *friends*. You're so self righteous, Lee. Why don't you get out what's really bothering you?" Her hands were on her hips and her eyes were flashing.
Lee felt trapped, every cell in his body was aware of her. He was going to lose it. FRAK!!
"You want to know what's bothering me?" He looked her over and nodded towards her sweatshirt. "Why do you keep wearing that stuff from Caprica?" He couldn't come right out and ask her, not yet.
She looked down at her top and plucked at the front. "You won't spend time with me because I'm wearing a top from Caprica?" She levelled her gaze at him and said, "Fine." Then she unzipped the thing and threw it on the floor.
Lee refused to lower his gaze from her fire green eyes. There was too much ivory skin in his peripheral vision. He threw his own tanks that were still gripped in his hand on the floor next to hers. He stepped towards her and picked up her top and held it in front of her face. "Is it true that you met someone on Caprica?"
He watched her swallow. "Yes." She grabbed the shirt and threw it back on the floor.
"So you rolled out of Baltar's bed and straight into a stranger's?" He leaned in so close to her he could see the dilation of her pupils. "And then two weeks after you get back, you try to hop into bed with me?"
"It's not what you think, Lee." She tried stepping back from him but he maintained his proximity. "Baltar was a mistake, I already told you that."
Lee's jealousy was rising with each word she said. "What about your new guy? Was he a mistake?"
She refused to answer, and this just set him off. "Why did you kiss me, Kara?" Raising his arms up, he pinned her to the door. He could hear the shake in his own voice, but he was beyond caring.
"You know why." Her voice was barely above a whisper.
Control slipping further, he ran his hand down the length of her arm. Her body went stock still. He lightly drifted the backs of his fingers over her stomach, the smooth warmth of her skin making him shut his eyes. They snapped back open when he felt her new scars, yet another secret she had refused to share with him.
"Because you were bored, looking for something to do." He trailed his fingers up to the elastic of her bra and slid his thumb under the material. Like a starving man he cupped her whole breast making the material roll up and expose her completely. Ignoring her trembling, he caressed the softest thing he's felt since he can't remember when, and continued his reasons. "And frakking the Cag of the Galactica seemed like a great way to waste some time."
With his other hand he lifted her bra over her head. As he descended his mouth to a breast, she made her reply, "Is that what you think, Lee?" And then she moaned as he pushed his face in and sucked on her hungrily.

Kara was literally feeling weak in the knees. Yet this is not what she wanted. She wanted to clear the air and tell him what he meant to her. She wanted to know what she meant to him. The sexual tension they generated was outrageous, but Lee was supposed to be different. Not just another frak. But his hot mouth on her skin was weakening her resolve. Maybe they could work this out after?
His hand slipped below her waist band and teased her through her underwear. She instinctively parted her legs to give him more access. Then he laughed at her. "You're so frakking easy, Kara."
Her face burned with embarrassment, she tried to push him away. "Get off me."
He let go of her and she could see the anger mixed with hunger in the steel of his eyes. "Was he a one time thing, Kara?" The control in his voice actually made her uneasy.
Refusing to answer, she reached down to pick up her clothes when he grabbed her wrist and slammed her back against the door. She managed a weak punch on his shoulder, but he dropped to his knees and yanked down her sweats and underwear. "Lee." Was all she managed in warning before he wrapped his hands around her thighs and tasted her. The fire that flared through her body stopped her breath. The moan that escaped her throat couldn't be stopped. She couldn't stay upright so he lowered her to the floor and when he put his face back she tangled her fingers in his hair and through her gentleness, tried to let him know that she understood.
He didn't stay there long; he sat up and pulled off her shoes and sweats, then made short work of his own. She just passively laid there feeling sad and guilty. She wanted him, she's always wanted him, but she wanted it to be more than this.
He entered her body hard and fast, not allowing her time to adjust to his fit. She hissed out a breath and he looked at her, a split second guilt altered his features. He slowed down and settled into her better, but he turned his head and refused to look at her. She placed her arms around his shoulders and tried to draw him closer for a kiss. She knew that if they kissed, his anger would melt away.
He wouldn't kiss her, and she felt heartbroken. The feel of his body inside hers became her only connection, so she wrapped her legs around him and tightened her arms. She buried her face in his neck and held on for dear life as her took her, claimed her and she tried desperately not to make a sound.
Once she had relaxed into it, her orgasm came barrelling through her with an intensity that set off every nerve in her body. She bit down hard at the juncture of his neck and shoulder to keep from crying out his name. As her muscles tightened repeatedly around him, he grunted and she felt him release himself in her.
She swears she heard him breathe, "Kara."
Xxxxxxxxxx
Lee had to get away from her now. She was still wrapped tightly around his body and she was trembling. Weakness was threatening to overtake him. He wanted nothing more than to hold her tenderly and kiss her breath away, but that is not what she wants from him. He is just another frak to her and if he kissed her now, he would expose all his vulnerabilities.
He reached behind himself and disentangled her legs. She immediately released him. Not looking at each other, they silently got dressed. He needed to say something, but as he looked at her and watched her zip up her sweatshirt, his brain shut down and his mouth took over. "I'm a little surprised, Kara. I thought you would be more take charge than that."
He regretted it immediately, but his mouth wouldn't switch off. He wanted to punish her, to make her feel as worthless as she made him feel. "So, you never answered me before. Was he a one time thing?"
"Frak you." Her eyes hardened. "And no he wasn't."
He could see the satisfaction she had in saying that. It just made his jealousy flare a little brighter. Having her now, had done nothing to appease his need for her. There was no satisfaction in it. She still wasn't his.
The only man who ever truly had her was Zak. All others were chaff. Lee had been holding out to claim her heart, but he was now just like all the others. He was chaff. A frak between fraks.
He watched her leave his office and winced as she slammed the hatch. "Frak!"
Chapter 5
Kara had no idea where she was headed or which direction she was going. The shock of seeing Lee kissing Dualla made her feel like she wasn't in her own body. There was an awful chemical taste in the back of her throat, and she honestly thought she might faint. Lee, her Lee, who was inside her body yesterday, was on his back with another woman in his arms - KISSING HER. Kara was going to throw up.
"KARA"
Oh Lords, he was coming after her. She quickly turned a corner and bumped into some random Galactica crewman. She landed on her butt. The young man was apologising and trying to offer her a hand up. Then Lee appeared beside her and took her hand instead and tried to help her. She yanked her hand away.
In the lowest most menacing voice she had, she said, "Don't you frakking touch me."
The young crewman blanched and looked at Lee. Then he fled. Starbuck and Apollo were not people he wanted to deal with.
Lee crouched down beside her and she could see her bite mark on his neck. She chanced a quick glance at his eyes, he actually looked guilty. "Kara." His voice was now soft but very unsteady.
He was leaning too close. He was going to make her cry. She weakly tried to push him away. When her hand made contact with his chest, she could feel how hard his heart was beating. She was vaguely aware of another person passing them. She didn't care.
He leant forward on his knees and wrapped his arms around her, she became immobile. When he buried his face in her neck, the first tear rolled down her cheek. It felt like he was squeezing the life out of her. "Stop shaking Kara," He spoke into her skin. "It's not what you think." Then he kissed her neck. That broke her heart.
Her brain snapped, *how dare he kiss her,* she wrenched herself out of his arms and slapped him so hard that it stung her palm. It was such an un-Starbuck thing to do, but the woman in her demanded it. He didn't retaliate. In fact he looked like he was going to put his arms around her again. She might have let him.
"Action stations, action stations. Set condition one throughout the ship."
They looked at each other, he spoke first. "This isn't over."
"That's what you think." Then she got to her feet and rushed to put on her flight suit. He was right behind her every step of the way.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
The battle was ugly and Kara barely kept it together. Lee was yelling in her ear, but she couldn't make out his words. She barely hit any targets at all. First she heard Dee's voice over the comm., telling them to make combat landings, the fleet had jumped. Next she heard Lee respond back to Dualla, "Copy that Galactica." Hearing their voices together hit her. She switched her comm, so no one could hear her, and let out an angry noise of frustration that turned into sucking breaths. Her vision went blurry, and she couldn't wipe her eyes.
Then her viper rocked with the impact of a raider missile. She lost all ability to slow down. Her dials were spinning wildly. Control of her viper was slipping. Lee's screaming became incomprehensible. She was going to die. She was either going to crash on that deck or be crushed against that wall. She hoped Zak was waiting for her. She somehow made the deck, the last thing she heard was her name being screamed, and the last thing she saw was the rushing approach of the rear docking bay wall.
xxxxxxxxxx
Lee stood there helpless as the deck crew had to use machinery to cut her out of the viper. A med team was ready and waiting. Kara was unconscious. Her neck was stretched back at an awkward angle, and Lee thought for the first time that she might actually be dead.
It took them nearly twenty minutes to cut her free. They carefully removed her from the wreck and rushed her to medical. Lee kept having flashbacks of his father being taken away and Tigh refusing to let him go. "Not this frakking time."
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
It was nearly two hours before he could see her. She had knocked her head and her collarbone had a hairline fracture. Her left shoulder had dislocated with the impact and he could see the bruising beginning to form down her left arm. She was asleep and had dried blood streaked through her golden hair.
The emotions were finally hitting him. The numbing shock lifted as he looked at her pale, still features. He quickly drew the curtain around her bed and collapsed in the chair beside her. Holding her right hand he buried his face in her side and shook with fear, relief and...remorse.
In the short time he had been aboard the Galactica, he had nearly lost her more times than he cared to think about. As CAG, he wondered if he could ground her permanently, keep her safe. A sure fire way came unbidden to his mind, he quickly shook it away; he could never deserve to be that happy. He finally got himself under control and stood above her, intently studying her face. She was beginning to stir and he felt his heart leap. Then she breathed out, "Lee," and for some reason that caused him pain. Before consciousness fully brought her back, he leaned down and kissed her lips.
Her mouth moved sweetly under his. A small stab of guilt went through him for taking advantage of her like this, but his need for this intimacy with her was overpowering. He felt her lips slacken, she had fallen unconscious again. He lightly ghosted his mouth over her cheek, and then kissed her temple. Sitting back in the chair, he figured that he had at least an hour before someone came looking for him.
xxxxxxxxxx
Kara woke up feeling like a battlestar had dropped on her body. She tried to lift her head and pounding pain forced her to gingerly lie back down. Images of the docking bay wall wildly rushing towards her filled her eyes. Sounds of Lee screaming filled her ear. Lee. She licked her lips and thought that she could taste him - no that was impossible. Then she turned her head to the side to find a small folded paper viper sitting on her bedside table. She reached out carefully and picked it up, smiling to herself. Then she noticed Lee's neat handwriting. On one side of the viper it said Starbuck and on the other side it said Apollo.
She screwed it up and let it drop to the floor.

Lee, Helo and a group of Marines were jumping back to Caprica in the Heavy Raider. Because of the constant threat of discovery by the Cylons, Lee had been given a set of random times a Raptor would be jumping back to these coordinates to meet up with them, in case Galactica had to jump again.
They could fit about fifty people in the Heavy Raider. As many trips as necessary would be made if there were more people, they just had to be quick about it.
Lee's thoughts drifted back to Kara. When Kara had woken up properly, he wasn't with her. Rushing down to Medical to finally see her awake, he found himself blocked by a large male nurse. "Sir, she has requested that you not visit with her."
Lee was incredulous. "She what?"
"Sir, she said..." The man reddened. "I can't actually repeat what she said, but in short Sir, you're not allowed to see her. Also she requested that anything work related should be told to her via the XO or a nugget, Sir."
He had really wanted to see her before he left for the rescue mission; he had wanted to cut through all the bullshit and fix things between them. Nearly losing someone makes their importance in your life crystal clear.
All Kara would be thinking about is how she saw him kissing Dualla, he had hoped his paper offering would open the way for him to apologise, to win her back. Obviously it wasn't enough.
Now he was going to rescue her `resistance lover.'
xxxxxxxxxxxx
As one of the nurses was making the bed of the newly vacated room, she noticed a balled up piece of paper on the floor. Picking it up she smoothed it out and realised it was a paper plane. She noticed the Starbuck/Apollo writing on the sides. Her eyebrows lifted, rumours were always going around about those two. Apollo had only visited with her when she was still unconscious. Starbuck had banished him once she woke up.
Looking at it more closely, she noticed that there was more writing inside; it had been revealed by the small tears and twists in the paper. She unfolded one section and it said *I'm sorry,* then she opened it up completely and read, *I love you.*
