They dressed quietly, in no hurry, with no awkwardness. Their only regret, that they had to stop. Lee took a few moments to sit back on the bed, and watch her.
Kara gave him a soft smile and took a moment to sit against him, between his legs, on the bed, She could still feel him there, inside of her. Her back cradled against his chest. Kara closed her eyes and felt him breathe into her hair. His breathing was deeper now, no longer panting. But she could still feel his heart pounding in his chest. She turned slightly and pressed a hand over his chest. Lee looked down at her, his eyes warm and smiling. He raised a finger to trace the curve of her cheek back to ear. His heart rated was slower, but with still a quick echo of the moments before when they lay arching, sliding and gasping.
"How do you know?" Kara asked him, focused on the collar of his tank. "How do you know it's love? What if it's just lust or attraction, Lee?" Kara whispered wanting to touch her tongue to the skin that was losing it's flush.
"Because, it doesn't hurt anymore." Lee replied, tipping her chin up and claiming her mouth once again. His mouth was soft against her. His tongue sweet and warm and Kara shivered against him as if he'd dipped in her warm water. She should have been afraid but she wasn't.
Because he was right.
