"Do you ever wonder why we are still here?" She asked, breaking the silence like a hammer blow. It didn't last though, the oppressive silence descended on the room. It was starting to sink in, what had happened, everyone that was gone.

"I try not to," he said, cradling her in the crook of his arm. She turned from staring at the dark ceiling and laid her head down on his smooth muscular chest. He was so warm, yet... distant, usually.

"I can't stop thinking about... all the people we left," She said. She was about to say Helo, which she was actually having trouble keeping off her mind, but it wouldn't do anything for Tyrol's ego if she admitted that.

"It helps to stay busy," He said, stroking her hair. It was so good to just be with someone, to be close. The last few days...

"We can't stay busy forever," She said. Why had he done it? Why had he stayed? Why?

"No, I suppose not," Tyrol said, he sighed, distraught. He hadn't thought about this yet had he? She pushed herself up on her elbows, looked at him, let her breasts brush his stomach.

"Galen, we... don't have to talk about this," Sharon said. She needed to talk about it, but he seemed uncomfortable. He looked at her with those eyes, those eyes that could melt her heart, so old even in so young a body. It was as if they could see into her soul.

"I just... it's not something I'm ready to talk about Sharon," He said.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to..." She started, but it was all too much. His eyes, Helo's eyes as she lifted off Caprica, she couldn't get it out of her head. She buried her head in his chest and wept. All the people she'd known there, gone, just a flash and gone. Those would have been the lucky ones. All gone. It was overwhelming, so overwhelming.

He just held her, his strong arms enveloping her in a warm reassuring hug, let her get it out. It took a long while, his chest glistened with her tears in the dull light. She heaved her last sobs and collapsed on him. She hadn't realized he was still stroking her hair, whispering something to her.

"It'll be okay," He whispered. Somehow she knew that it would be. They'd be okay. She still had him, so strong, even here where no one could see, where he didn't have to be 'The Chief' in front of his people. They'd be okay. It was enough for her. She fell asleep on his chest, in his arms, the worries forgotten, the despair of the last few days vanquished by his quiet words and strong arms.
