Ever come to start?

How did a man who seemed so wrong

Ever win my heart?

I’ve always been a quiet person

A face without a name

Now thanks to fate

My life can never be the same

On the outside looking in

Maybe that was selfish

But it wasn’t such a sin

I’ve never craved the glory

The power or the fame

Content to do my job

A teacher just the same

I knew I’d have to change my life

And let other play a part

I just never realised

The price would be my heart

At first I was afraid

Just wanted to run and hide

To bury the truth

Somewhere deep inside

I thought my life was over

With all the struggles done

Now every days a challenge

A battle to be won

The news I had was frightening

The choices difficult to bear

But everything’s so different

Now someone else is there

I know how much he needs me

To be there by his side

An inescapable truth

From which I cannot hide

So now I fight for both of us

And the love I never knew

Could change my world completely

And start my life anew
